Paintings with Antique Frames

All of my paintings are created using acrylic paint on stretched canvas. I use a combination of antique frames and newer, classical frames that I find at antique stores in my travels throughout the country. My process for framing a painting is in reverse…instead of completing a painting and using an identical frame for each piece, I start with the frame as inspiration for the painting.

Please note, my antique frames are not perfect. They have flaws. They are meant to be that way. I have specified if it’s an antique frame in the caption underneath the image.
